A pair of gothic revival ceremonial chairs, in the manner of E.W Pugin.

Intricately carved from oak with their original navy leather seat.

Across each of the chairs backs in Olde English lettering spells KESTEUAN; which in modern English translates to KESTEVAN a council district in Lincolnshire.

The chairs are believed to have come from a religious or council building.

The chairs height indicates they were made so the person(s) seated on them were at a higher level than others in their company and therefore highlighted their importance.
